artist, architect, mentor
My name is Anna Filippovskaya and I have been drawing all my life
As far as I remember myself, I always wanted to pick up a brush. All kinds of master classes (Sergey Andriaka's watercolor school, Moscow Secondary Art School), plein airs and competitions in childhood further strengthened my love for art.
In the 9th grade, I left my hometown for St. Petersburg and entered the Art School at the Academy of Arts in the architecture class. In 2009, I entered the Academy of Arts in the architecture department, where I studied for 6 years. The plein airs began.
We spent the summer of 2012 painting en plein air and at an exhibition in China.
Inspiration is everywhere

I started working on the interior design for the Holy Trinity Church in Ust-Luga when I was 20. Two years later, I joined the architectural firm Astragal, where I have been working to this day. I teach architectural graphics at the Faculty of Architecture, as well as drawing and painting at Children's Art School No. 1 in St. Petersburg.
I love to share, show, tell and engage students in the wonderful world of art.
I also teach worshops in the “Young Artist” program for students from all over Russia and advanced training courses for teachers from Russian art schools.
I illustrate books and magazines. I participate in international exhibitions of the International Watercolor Society and Fabriano, as well as in exhibitions of the Union of Artists of Russia, the Academy of Arts.
My dream - a personal school of watercolor for children and adults, where the world of creativity and like-minded people give the opportunity to see the world through art, help to choose your favorite profession.
The days when I don't pick up a brush and paints are very rare. I spend several months a year in my native village in the North, where I get inspiration and relax from the fast-paced life of the big city among rivers, forests and wooden architecture.
I have launched a project to recreate lost architectural masterpieces on paper, it is called "The Lost City". I am inspired by the lines of buildings, people, my family and children, my students, the measured rhythm of northern villages and the bright reality of St. Petersburg, my friends and colleagues, watercolors, and of course a clean sheet of paper awaiting the first lines and brushstrokes.
