Plein air in the land of spirits

In May 2022, the next traditional All-Russian plein air took place in Khakassia, bringing together a wide variety of artists and people from all over the country.
The All-Russian Plein Air in Khakassia took place in May 2022 under a grant from cultural initiatives. 30 artists were invited, some of them honored artists of Russia, teachers, professors and members of the Union of Artists of Russia. Various cities were represented, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Khabarovsk and others. Local artists from Abakan and other cities of the Republic of Khakassia also took part in it.

This plein air is aimed at raising the general level and development of local artists and students. For two weeks, the group was together with curators at the base near Lake Shirazh, and every day trips to different parts of the republic were organized for the plein air participants. From 8 am to 9 pm, the participants left by bus.
Everyone painted mountains, Yenisei, taiga, various sights and iconic places of Khakassia in the open air. In the last, third week, master classes, lectures, debriefings were organized. This part was especially important for students of art schools, for college students and for teachers of the Republic of Khakassia. In the process, the organizers recorded video lessons. The plein air ended with a final exhibition in the republican museum, a concert and the printing of the catalog. This is a significant cultural large-scale event for all of Russia. It is being held for the ninth time.
"I was lucky to be in the list of participants from our professional community. The trips, communication with colleagues, views, beauty were so interesting - it was incredible. I think this is a unique opportunity for artists from all over Russia to gather in the republic, almost in the center of Russia. The exchange of experience, the subtleties of craftsmanship is invaluable, and moreover, a necessary experience and part of the formation for every artist, teacher. I am very grateful to the organizers for this truly rare opportunity, for the knowledge gained and the opportunity to practice in the company of like-minded people."
